Microsoft Flight Simulator's Next Big Update Gives France And Amsterdam A Huge Visual Upgrade

Microsoft Flight Simulator already covers the entire world, and in its next big update the air travel simulation game gives a number of European locations an even more detailed makeover. World Update 4 adds high-resolution 3D photogrammetry for Paris and Amsterdam, logistical improvements to 100 additional airports throughout the area, and hand-crafted updates for the Megève, Nice, and Rotterdam airports.

On top of that, 100 new landmarks will be introduced to the digital world, which includes iconic recreations of the Eiffel tower, Bruges' Church of Our Lady, the Arc de Triomphe, and many more.

To cap everything off, players can even attempt a new landing challenge at La Salette and an "awe-inducing" bush trip into the heights of the Pyrenees and the Alps provided that the free FRBENELUX bundle from the in-game marketplace has been downloaded.

Previous world updates from Asobo have fleshed out Flight Simulator's world in even more stunning detail, with UK, Japan, and North America being expanded on with their own set of landmarks and detailed photographic assets.

Players have even modded a cheeky reference to a global economic crisis into the game, as a digital version of the cargo ship Ever Given can be wedged into the Suez Canal through the use of a custom mod. All you have to do is fly to the coordinates 30.017650, 32.580220, and you'll see the massive ship blocking naval traffic once it is installed.

Fortunately, the real ship was freed last month and the vital shipping route went back to business as usual.
