Developer Sumo Digital has revealed a new trailer for Hood: Outlaws and Legends, its upcoming action-heist game. In a detailed look at what the game is about, the trailer reveals just how a round of medieval multiplayer will function, which revolves around a team of players breaking into a tightly guarded location and pilfering some valuable loot while avoiding AI-controlled enemies.
The catch here is that a rival team of players will also be searching for the same treasure, leading to confrontations where one gang either escapes with the loot or a 4v4 showdown occurs. You can see more of the game in action below, which features Hitman's Jane Perry aka Agent 47'’s handler Diana Burnwood narrating the video.
Teams have plenty of options available to them, considering the emphasis on stealth in Hood: Outlaws and Legends. Beyond a race to the vault, the other risky approach that a gang can take is to let the opposition do all the hard work and then prepare an ambush at an extraction point. Every player in a team also takes on a unique role, with each class having a specialized set of skills.
Rangers are snipers who are effective with a longbow at almost any range, Hunters are masters of close-range assassinations, the Brawler wields a sledgehammer as a team's reliable muscle when the situation calls for brute strength, and the Mystic serves multiple roles as healer, human radar, and crowd control specialist.
Once players have successfully extracted the loot and retreated back to their hideout, they'll be able to spend the resources on upgrading their base of operations, customizing their characters, and unlocking new abilities. Depending on how benevolent you're feeling, you can even live up to the legends of the Robin Hood mythos by donating some of your hard-earned gold to the poor.
Hood: Outlaws and Legends will release on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on May 7.
