Grand Theft Auto 6 Will Reportedly Feature Roblox-Style User-Generated Content

It remains to be seen whether or not Grand Theft Auto 6 will be exclusively single-player at launch and add in an online component down the line, the way both GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 did. However, Rockstar Games also hasn’t said much (if anything) about how the open world title’s online experience will build on GTA 5, whenever it does go live.

Interestingly, it seems one particular area where Grand Theft Auto 6’s online is looking to expand significantly is with user-generated content. Digiday has claimed in a recently published report that Rockstar has been in discussions with not only GTA content creators, but also creators focused on Fortnite and Roblox.

Citing three “industry insiders”, the report claims Rockstar plans on allowing players to “modify the game’s environment and assets to bring their own intellectual property – and potentially their brand sponsors” into the new rendition of GTA Online. Discussions between the company and content creators have remained “relatively open-ended”, as per the report, and that there’s is much clarity yet on “how creators would benefit from bringing their IP and audiences into GTA 6 beyond the exposure”.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is due out for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S sometime this Fall. The game is reportedly targeting a PC release sometime in early 2026.
