Resident Evil 2
$30 | Releases January 10, 2025
A killer combo of gruesome visuals, modern gameplay, and smart tweaks to the source material, Resident Evil 2 was one of the best games of 2019 when it first launched on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. It got a few next-gen upgrades for the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles, revamping the classic game even further for new platforms, and now PS5 players can own that version on-disc when it launches early next year. Preorders are available now at Best Buy.
Resident Evil 3
$30 | Releases January 10, 2025
Like Resident Evil 2, the Resident Evil 3 remake updates the original game on a visual and technical level. It's much shorter than Resident Evil 2, but it keeps you on your toes constantly thanks to the lumbering Nemesis stalking you, a bioweapon that you'll have to be prepared for at any given time as you attempt to escape Raccoon City.
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard (Gold Edition)
$30 | Releases January 10, 2025
Originally released back in 2017, Resident Evil 7 made being changes to the formula. It's the first mainline game in the series to feature a first-person camera perspective and introduces an all-new protagonist, Ethan Winters, whose storyline continues into Resident Evil 8. Even though it's almost a decade old, the game still looks fantastic thanks to the RE Engine powering its grotesque graphics, and remains one of the scariest games in the series. The Gold Edition includes all previously released DLC expansion packs that add more missions to the game.
If you want to complete your Resident Evil PS5 collection, Resident Evil Village is just $20 for its standard version and $27 for the Gold Edition. The Gold Edition includes the Winters' Expansion, which adds a new single-player campaign to the game, along with a selection of in-game cosmetic items. You can also pick up the remake of Resident Evil 4 at its lowest price yet of just $20 at Amazon. Both are excellent entries in the series, especially Resident Evil 4, which one of the few games to earn a 10/10 score here on GameSpot.
