A Rayman Remake is in Development – Rumour

Following recent reports that Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown’s development team was disbanded by Ubisoft after the title failed to sell to the company’s internal expectations, more information has seemingly emerged on that front.

As per Insider Gaming, a Rayman remake is currently in development at Ubisoft’s Milan studio, and a portion of The Lost Crown’s development team has been reassigned to the project. Which Rayman game specifically is being remade isn’t mentioned, though it is claimed that series creator Michel Ancel is serving as a consultant on the project. That, however, has allegedly raised some concerns with members of the team, due to past allegations and reports regarding Ancel’s toxic leadership.

Interestingly enough, the Rayman title is one of three projects that The Lost Crown’s development team has been moved to, as per a separate report by Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson, with the other two projects being Project Ovr (which is the next mainline Ghost Recon game) and Beyond Good and Evil 2. Allegedly, most of the team has moved to the latter, with Ghost Recon and Rayman pulling about a dozen members each.

It’s also reported that Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown has only managed to sell about a million units since its launch in January. Read more on that through here.
