Iman Vellani On The Marvels Box Office Struggles: "That's For Bob Iger"

Iman Vellani, back as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel in The Marvels, remains unfazed by the film's box office performance since its November 10 release--it opened to $47 million domestically and just under $100 million worldwide, marking the weakest start for a Marvel film since The Incredible Hulk in 2008.

When asked by Yahoo! Entertainment about how the movie's performing financially, the 21-year-old Vellani said, "I don't want to focus on something that's not even in my control, because what's the point? That's for Bob Iger. [The box office] has nothing to do with me." Vellani added she's "happy with the finished product, and the people that I care about enjoyed the film."

The Marvels had the worst first and second weekends in MCU history at US box office. The performance was not exactly a surprise, given earlier projections indicating a potential $80 million opening weekend in the US, and also Deadline estimates hovering around $60 million or as low as $50 million.
