Baldur’s Gate 3 is Being “Actively Playtested” on Xbox Series X/S, “Still on Schedule” for 2023 Release

To say that Baldur’s Gate 3 ranks among the best games of 2023 would be a bit of an understatement, and though until now only those playing on PC or PS5 have been able to dive into Larian Studios’ incredible RPG, Xbox users are likely not going to have to wait much longer to join in on the fun.

Larian confirmed back in August that Baldur’s Gate 3 would be coming to Xbox Series X/S sometime this year, and though a release date has yet to be announced as the year continues to wind down, the developer has assured that the game will indeed be coming to Xbox before we enter 2024.

Taking to Twitter, Baldur’s Gate 3 director and Larian Studios CEO Swen Vincke recently reiterated that the RPG is still on track for a 2023 release, and is being “actively playtested”- though a release date has yet to be nailed down.

“Latest on the Xbox [version]- being actively playtested, still on schedule for this year,” Vincke wrote. “We’ll announce the exact release date when we’re sure it’s done.”

Previously, Vincke said that Baldur’s Gate 3 would likely be releasing for Xbox Series X/S between September and November. Recently, Larian’s director of publishing Michael Douse also reiterated plans for a 2023 launch.
