Disco Elysium – The Final Cut has had a disappointingly troubled launch on consoles. The game itself is excellent, and made even better by all the new additions and improvements made in The Final Cut, but on PS5 and PS4 in particular, it’s been let down by a number of technical issues. From voice over glitches to bugs that block progression in various quests to issues with the UI and with in-game interaction, The Final Cut clearly hasn’t launched in the state that it should have.
Developer ZA/UM has been working on fixing these issues, and did address some of these with the recent patch 1.2. Now, patch 1.3 has gone live for PS5 and PS4 as well, and fixes “a myriad of bugs, soft locks, and interaction errors.” There’s no list of patch notes provided by ZA/UM, but they did previously list the problems they would be tackling with the update. You can check that out through here.
Meanwhile, the developer also confirms that work on patch 1.4 is already underway as well.
Disco Elysium – The Final Cut is out for PC, PS5, PS4, and Stadia, and will launch for Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One later this year.
In our review of the game, we awarded it a score of 9/10, saying, “Disco Elysium was already an excellent game when it first launched, and with The Final Cut, it’s been made even better.” You can read our full review through here.
