Uncharted Movie Delayed To 2022, Ghostbusters: Afterlife Moves To November 2021

The Uncharted movie starring Tom Holland will no longer release on July 16, 2021 according to a report from Deadline. Instead, the site reports it will now open on February 11, 2022. Another major upcoming movie, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, has also been hit with a delay. It is moving from June 11, 2021 to November 11, 2021.

The Uncharted movie finally finished filming in 2020 after more than 10 years of development. It stars Holland, best known for playing Peter Parker/Spider-Man in Disney and Marvel's MCU films, as the iconic PlayStation protagonist Nathan Drake. Mark Wahlberg stars alongside him as Victor Sullivan, a mentor and father figure for the treasure-hunting hero. Antonio Banderas, Tati Grabrielle (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), and Sophia Ali (Grey's Anatomy) are also playing major roles in the flick, which is based on Naughty Dog's acclaimed action game franchise. Ruben Fleischer (Venom) is directing.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife, meanwhile, is billed as a sequel to the original '80s films. It is headlined by Paul Rudd (Ant-Man) and Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things). Trevor, played by Wolfhard, and Phoebe, who is played by Captain Marvel's McKenna Grace, are the grandkids of one of the original Ghostbusters. The pair move to a farm with their mother but, naturally, things get a bit otherworldly. Ghostbusters: Afterlife is directed by Jason Reitman, the son of Ghostbusters' director Ivan Reitman.
